Camp Chef has a knack for reaching a moderate price point with products that cut production costs yet still manage to get the job done. There is a temperature imbalance between the lightweight hood and pizza stone over the burner, but setting Italia to medium heat produces a properly cooked pizza without burning the crust.
SG is short for Slide and Grill. The metal heat diffuser slides away exposing foods to the direct wood pellet flame for high temp searing. Read our review. After testing SG we were disappointed in the Slide and Grill Sear function, but it is otherwise a solid, well made smoker with many useful features earning our Silver Medal.
The Camp Chef Smoke Vault 18″ is the smallest of their two gas BBQ smokers. It comes with two 15″W x 14″D cooking racks.
